Kearney Regional Medical Center speech therapy offers evaluation and treatment of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. We are proficient in assessment and treatment of deficits due to strokes, traumatic brain injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. Our therapists are VitalStim certified. VitalStim is an FDA-approved treatment for patients with swallowing and voice disorders which utilizes Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation to strengthen and rehabilitate swallowing and voice musculature.
Patients can also receive DPNS (Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation) to treat swallowing disorders. We provide LVST LOUD (Lee Silverman Voice Training) to treat individuals with Parkinson’s. LVST LOUD focuses on increasing vocal loudness.
Our speech therapists also work collaboratively with the nurses and parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to improve infant feeding. Our therapists teach oral stimulation techniques, positioning and feeding techniques, as well as provide education to promote safe, efficient breast and bottle feedings, which is the base for good feeding skills in the future.
We provide both inpatient and outpatient therapy. Come see us today.
