The pride and happiness that comes across the patients faces when they complete a task makes each day worth it to her. She enjoys spending time getting to know each person and finding what is meaningful and important to them. After being a nurses aide for years she knew she wanted to be in a healthcare position with the ability to help people. She saw what occupational therapy did for the nursing home residents and knew that’s what she wanted to do with her life.  In her spare time she loves to spend time with her three boys and husband. They enjoy swimming, fishing, and being outdoors! A quote she lives by is, “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.”

Rogene Rasmussen (Ro): Occupational Therapist

It was at that point in her life she knew she wanted to be in the health care field. Her favorite part of her day is coming to work every day with amazing co-workers and watching people become pain free, stronger, safer and more independent. In Ro’s free time she enjoys anything outdoors, walking, riding horses and watching rodeos. A quote she lives by is,  “Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.”

He chose Physical Therapy as a career because he wanted a career where he could help people. Therapy is such a unique opportunity to get to work together with patients towards achieving their goals. He especially likes meeting new people and helping them reach their goals so patients are able to return to their normal life an/or even possibly better than before they came and saw us. In Matt’s spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends. A quote he lives by is, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

She really enjoyed her time in physical therapy and developed a close connection with her PT.  Her favorite part about being a Pediatric Therapist is watching kids grow and develop gross motor skills. Their faces seem to light up when a new task is accomplished. In Logan’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig and family, enjoying the outdoors whether its out on the lake, on a walk, or outdoor target archery. A quote she lives by is, “No ‘Payne,’ no gain” (Hint: Last Name).

One of her favorite parts of her job is that there are so many opportunities to work with a wide variety of people and every day is always different. It’s always amazing to watch people reach their goals and get them back to doing what they love. Her favorite part of her job is being able to build a relationship with each and every patient she gets to work with. In Tori’s free time she likes spending time with her family and friends, baking, camping, and anything outdoors in the summer time. A quote she lives by is, “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.”

In Marissa’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter and family. She also likes wake-boarding and anything that has to do with summer/water. A quote she lives by is, “Be in love with your life. Every minute of it.” -Jack Kerouac

Sydney Wagner: Speech Therapist

Sydney grew up in Lexington, NE and went to the University of Nebraska at Kearney.  Her favorite part of her day is that every day is different and there’s always an opportunity to make activities functional (and fun) for the patient. She believes it is very rewarding seeing a child meet a speech or language goal that they’ve been working on diligently and helping a patient learn safe swallow strategies so they aren’t coughing during meals when eating with family and friends. She went into the field because she’d always enjoyed teaching, yet wanted to be in the medical field. Being an SLP is the perfect mix and allows her to teach her patients strategies for speech, communication, memory, and how to improve their swallowing function. In her spare time you will find her snowboarding and traveling with her husband, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends. A quote she lives by is, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances.” Thessalonians 5:16-18
